Tour n° 4: Uffizi Gallery
Itinerary
Uffizi Gallery

A visit to Florence cannot be separated from a visit to one of the most important museums in the world. Immersing oneself in the beauty of unique masterpieces is an unforgettable experience.
An elegant building that connects the political fulcrum of the city to the river Arno, the Uffizi Palace was built by Giorgio Vasari according to an ambitious project of Grand Duke Cosimo I dei Medici, to gather the offices of the grand ducal administration, the ‘Uffizi’, in a single building.
It was in fact with Francesco I, Cosimo’s eldest son, that the top floor of the building first housed the collections of art objects, paintings, ancient statues, and much more… Thus was born one of the galleries that for centuries would amaze the eyes and hearts of visitors from every corner of the world.
The visit aims to illustrate the history of the museum, of the Medici collections, and above all to deepen our knowledge of masterpieces such as Giotto’s Majesty, Gentile da Fabriano’s Adoration of the Magi, Piero della Francesca’s Diptych with the Dukes of Urbino, Botticelli’s Allegory of Spring and Venus, Leonardo’s Annunciation, Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni, Raphael’s Madonna of the Goldfinch and many others.
